I immediately noticed formulary similarities between Becca Ultimate Coverage. Both formulas are extremely similar in almost every aspect and this was obvious immediately but it wasn't until I read Becca's claims of 21% pigment that I really laughed because they are nearly identical to the claims made by Von D, right down to the 21% pigment and promises of full coverage! The ingredients between the two formulas are comparable as well and one could certainly be considered a dupe for the other if the prices weren't nearly the same and both companies weren't Cruelty Free already. This is just something to note if you've tried and love it then you will likely adore Becca's Ultimate Coverage Foundation as well, and this could be exceptionally helpful if you were unable to find a suitable match with Lock-It- you will undoubtedly find one with Becca Ultimate Cover Foundation. The formula of Becca Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme isn't the thickest cream in the world but you can immediately feel the richness and density of the formula. Make no mistake- the Ultimate Coverage Creme is designed for those seeking the fullest of full coverage, not for people who want medium/full coverage or a quick one-step-effortless foundation. Ultimate Cover is for people who have legitimate issues that need to be concealed the severe acne, rosacea, hyper pigmentation, port wine stains, (even tattoos); all of which can be concealed with Ultimate Coverage but will require a little bit of time and patience to get the hang of it.
Think of it this way: if you're buttering an English muffin and you try to use cold, thick butter, you're not going to successfully get the butter into the nooks and crannies and they'll end up being more visible than they were on the naked muffin. Instead you have two choices; you can either use warm butter or a warm muffin; either of which will help the now-thin-butter sink into each and every crevice! A silicone primer underneath can really go either way as far as helping or hindering application but the thicker and drier it is, the more likely it will be to make application difficult. Your best bet for ultimate oil control, is to use a setting powder or silicone powder alternative like to set Becca Complexion Cream. This way your pores are already 'filled in' so to speak and you have a smooth canvas which just needs to be set to send you on your way. Just note that if you have normal-dry skin you probably won't need to set anything immediately. If anything, you may want to re-hydrate your skin later in the day with some kind of moisturizing spray to keep the 'just applied' appearance.

I own both, and while coverage is really full on both, I feel like the Becca foundation looks more like skin versus Kat Von D looks more, masky and I think builds up A LOT faster.
Of course I have combination skin, and Kat Von D does not budge, I prefer the Becca, it lasts about as long on me but doesn't look as masky. Also, Becca could extend their shade range, I think they're far too neutral in undertone for the brown shades (Which I belong) I feel like they tried to make a 'one size fits all' as a lot more companies are doing who are extending their shade range, it's kind of cheating to me but hey, they're new at it. Having yellow undertones, I can 'make' it work but at $44 bucks a pop, I wish they had some clearly defined undertones because neutral just looks 'off'.
Read ALL about my review process including how I take swatches, photos, and more.In one of my previous I mentioned that one of the brand’s marketing directors let me in on a little secret about an upcoming product launch. I couldn’t say what, but now I can!!! Meet BECCA Radiant Skin Satin Finish Foundation, the brand’s first liquid foundation!Okay, sure there is BECCA Luminous Skin Colour which is somewhat of a liquid foundation but more of a tinted moisturizer. It’s great and I’ve used and loved it in the past, but Radiant Skin Satin Finish provides a little more coverage. Here’s the official scoop:.Comes in 18 shades.Medium/buildable coverage foundation with antioxidant protection and a lightweight satin finish.
Contains sebum-absorbing properties that provide a perfectly natural look.Long wearing and water/sweat resistant formula.Contains Ejitsu Rose derived from a common rose in Japan, helps to improve elasticity and radiance while providing anti-inflammatory properties.Enriched with Vitamin E to enhance moisture retention while protecting against pollution and free radical damage. See much more.My verdict: Mahogany is a perfect match for my NW47 skin. I LOVE the finish on this—radiant and satin are perfect words to describe it and my oily skin appreciates that I don’t look like a frying pan while wearing this (although this is more of a fall/winter/spring foundation for me). I also appreciated that what I put on in the morning is what I still had on in the evening. Since it’s more of a medium coverage, I still need concealer for the dark spots I’ve collected on my forehead.
I like applying it with the for an even more seamless finish. Needless to say, I’m in love. The only gripe is it only comes in 18 shades (and to say only 18 shades sounds funny since most brands don’t have such an extensive range of shades) while the Stick Foundation comes in 24 shades and the Compact Concealer 29. But since BECCA is super awesome, they’ve created a Foundation Finder chart which will help you figure out your shade in Radiant Skin Satin Finish Foundation. Check it out(for reference, I wear Almond in Stick Foundation and Concealer and Carob in Fine Loose Finishing Powder)Also see and the if you need more help.Price and where to buy: $42 at and BECCACosmetics.comP.S. I’m also insanely obsessed with.
You know I’m a serious red lip girl, but I haven’t worn a red lip in a month of Sundays since Autumn Punch came into my life. It’s a gorgeous pinky brown nude for dark skin and as someone who isn’t into gloss much, it’s perfect because it’s not sticky and has really great staying power. It’s $24 and you can get it. HmmmI don’t know what to do. I wear NW47 as well, but the online Becca MUA told me I would match “Tobacco” in the Radiant SSFF. (I sent her a photo and said I was NW47.)I just got matched into NW47 after the MAC MUA told me that the foundation I was wearing (NW50) was too dark (especially considering I’ve cleared up quite a bit of my hyperpigmentation issues and I’m not out in the sun as much). I agree that neither is a 100% perfect match, but now I dunno whether to order Tobacco or Mahogany???
