I am so disappointed in Aurelios in Crown Point Indiana. A customer for years, my brother and sister in law worked at the Aurelios in Schererville throughout high school and college, and even had their rehearsal dinner there, so Aurelios pizza has been something that we have enjoyed for years. Last night I tried to do something nice and order dinner for a friend of mine whose dad has been in the hospital all this past week due to a complication with his cancer. The only pizza he can eat without aggravating his stomach is Aurelios. She is a busy mom with young boys, her dad has been living with her, and her husband has been out of town. So when I called to tell her that I was going to order dinner for her and her family to give her a break from cooking, she and the family were really looking forward to it. I called to place the order for delivery, I double checked with the girl on the phone if they delivered to that address, she put me on hold, came back on and said yes.
I placed the order and was told it would be delivered in an hour and 15 min. An hour later I received a call from the driver saying that he can't deliver to this address, that its 5 miles outside of his range. I asked if he already had the pizza in his car and how close he was, and I asked if I can pay an extra delivery charge, he said no.
I then called the manager, Dana, to ask if they can charge whatever they need to just to get the pizza delivered. I explained to her the situation with my friends sick father. She did not care. I explained to her that when placing the order I had the girl verify that they delivered to that address, she did not take any responsibility for that error.
I am so upset and disappointed that the family was looking forward to the meal, and I had to call 10 minutes before they were expecting their dinner to say sorry, but I wasn't able to get them their meal. The customer service at this location is absolutely lacking. I want to share this story because it was not just a pizza, the purpose of the pizza was to give a busy mom a break, and a man that has been ill a meal that he can enjoy.
