Hi:I hope someone can help me. I've been using the same Epson Stylus color 740 printer for years and it may have reached its end. For one thing, the black ink won't appear. I have bought two new Epson cartridges and have cleaned the print heads, etc.
Several times and nothing appears. (However, the color works) I know it's not the cartridges themselves as they are expensive authentic Epson cartridges and not the compatibles I've used -successfully-in the past. The problem is, I'm not a techie person and I haven't upgraded my operating system since I got this iMac OSX 10.5.8 about 4 years ago.
Everything has been working well and I saw no need to create problems. Now I'm wondering that if I get a new printer I will have to upgrade my OS. And which printer should I get? I'd like something simple that will print business letters and manuscript pages. Nothing fancy. Can anyone please offer any suggestions??? I have a desktop iMac OS X (10.5.
And need a basic printer for my husband's business letters and my manuscript pages. Now and then I'll print a color cartoon, although not often. I have Internet cable access, not wifi. I've been reading reviews of Canon 922, but after further investigation, it appears to be more for photo printing and I don't do much of that. Also, I don't like the idea of having to replace all those color cartridges.
My former Epson just had the black cartridge and the color cartridge and I was satisfied with that.Do you have to buy large separate ink cartridges? Also, would this model be appropriate for someone who deals mostly in printing documents, letters, etc? Thanks for any help you can offer.Golditoo.
Thank You for sharing your information on compatible printers. I was about to purchase the wrong one.what did we ever do without google & tech knowledge exchange!Do have two questions: What website do you purchase the generic cartridges from.there's so many to choose from? Second question, is the Cannon 922 printer an air printer, that's compatible with my iPhone & iPad mini? When I google printers (air) they all! Say there compatible even the HP which I purchased and had to spend an entire day troubleshooting thru menu options for iPhone mobile devise. Did finally sync but it was a nightmare. Thanks again for great info!Leisa.
